The History Channels perspective on Good vs Evil
Religion decides for the people & not the other way around
The fact that mankind is being guided by their own writings of ancient times is show cased daily in many religious forms of worship, and the roles of good vs evil is also tackled by each religion, religious scholar, and teacher that walks the surface of this beautiful planet.
A belief system has become a system of governing practices, that has stemmed into an entire format of instructional life patterns, for every daily experience and occurrence, each belief has a given set of laws that constitute what's deemed as good & evil deeds.
Many people follow their belief systems from birth, when they receive their learning's, and knowledge by either inheritance or by self choice. Knowledge is distributed by religious text, and manuscripts which all have been derived from the struggles of mankind in all of humanities time periods, and has been the sum of human lives, infused into material form as depicted by each volume of these religious texts, and is said to be divine in nature.

The Biblical laws & how Good vs Evil pans out historically
God and Satan are major thoughts many religious people contemplate on daily, and through out the ages of time, and ever since mankind virtually conjured up words to designate such a difference. Most all believers will tell you all about what is to come based on their learned studies of such a belief, as to how the world began, and how it is to end.
The usage of the Heaven & Hell themes are common ground for such religious stories, and knowledge expressed about humanities enduring life struggles as a whole, and are used to decipher the differences between both good -vs- evil, by religious scholars, pastors, preachers, and deacons.
All religious scholars whom claim to believe in such worldly known perceptions, of the potential existence for a creator commonly known as & referred to as God, and a well known destruct-or known as the Devil or Satan, all seem to see eye to eye on such human percepts. Deeming it necessary for their belief systems to perpetuate its supposed good dealings, and renderings to all of humanity in the form of ritualistic practices and or condemnations.
In ancient times there was issues with this sort of definition, and judgement game, shown by the protestant reformation (lead by Martin Luther he lived between the years of 1483 – 1546 & not to be confused with Martin Luther King Jr), the acceptance at one time of slavery by many Christian world leaders prior to its more current and modern nonacceptance, as well as complete absolute abolition over the next coming ages in America.
Due to the contradictory nature of such a harsh treatment of humanity imposed on any creature for that matter, Slavery & the ownership of human beings of any kind has been outlawed worldwide by all Christian faiths including the Catholic Church, which helped to fuel even the likes of the civil rights movement, and many other themes of fair and equal treatment of humanity many years later, after the original constitution of such unfair belief systems back in the mid-evil times, which were fault of selfish clergymen & corrupted religious as well as political leaders. (according to wikipedia)
Human Nature is key to it all

The moral issue of sorts is that many people battle with this formidable reality of a dualistic nature inwardly. The fact that mankind themselves we're responsible for the development of all these beliefs in written format, then by enforcing its detailed set of beliefs upon all walks of life & at times in the past by force.
This forceful act or method of handing down things like moral issues, has actually caused major controversy through out the ages of history as we know it, and still rages on today, to even cause many global conflicts, wars amongst differing cultures, which today.
Hence, a sort of fueling back into the true physical nature of things, caused by each humans response to such issues of morality, making them 100% responsible for bringing out the very existence of any major or minor event happening, to occur by free will and ultimately their own choice in doing. When viewed by the likes of others(outsiders), it can then easily be seen as something being worthy of handling, and by those people whom are in positions of authority of upholding such value systems.
Now when it comes to religious differences and debates on every given level, this is also the case, even showing itself in the Hubpages community, where people tend to spark debates about what they feel is something good vs evil (right or wrong) in humanity and judging by all their differing religious views, via Q&A areas, forums, or in hubs/comment area's.
The believers always want to prove the existence of their faiths, and as to their specific view of their creator or god. The non-believers always want to deny the existence of such, by attempting to back themselves with scientific observations, many of which aren't so clearly proven. This struggle has gone on for ages on end, and is major reason for the misinterpretation, mis-representations, and out right carelessness involved being on either side of the fence.

1st response to a Q&A question asking, "How do you know the difference between good and evil?", Asked by fellow hubber dmop.
How science has made its mark on the world and religion opposes its many proofs, giving rise to controversy, and much difficulty in determining right from wrong, good or bad, and the true definitions behind evil.

There is quite often no difference between Good and Evil. These are qualitative and moral issues which depend on points of view. Not only have several of the most execrable acts been committed for the 'benefit' of the victims, they have almost without exception been completely legal and democratic decisions, and only the victims have seen any reason to complain. Did such things not happen in the Frontier days?
I am going to illustrate this in the near future with a series of hubs on the British Empire in Africa, where hundreds of thousands of lives were lost, and atrocities were committed in the name of Democracy, Progress, and the duty of Civilizing the Natives.
Nature does not tolerate a vacuum; neither does it permit Absolutes.
